Most AI training doesn’t work. We built Magnitude to fix that.

The AI Pathway for SMEs. Discover a practical framework to help your business adopt AI with confidence, clarity and impact.

I’ve spent the last few years watching the UK AI training market grow from nothing into something that’s everywhere. I’ve been building with AI since 2020 so know a thing or two about it but when it comes to AI training whilst I see a lot of promise a lot appears to be failing.

Failing, but not in obvious ways. The workshops happen and the delegates get value. They nod, take notes, get excited about ChatGPT, Claude, or whatever. Then the trainer collects the fee and everyone goes home. That’s ok, that’s how lots of training works but…

…three weeks later almost nothing has changed. A few enthusiastic individuals are using AI for the things they were already going to figure out themselves. The rest of the team has quietly drifted back or are just randomly signing up to new tools when they see a fun LinkedIn post or advert. The business starts to wonder why their training investment hasn’t made a difference on the day-to-day running of the business.

I’ve seen this happen in loads of businesses (probably even some of the training I have done in the past landed a bit like this). It isn’t because AI training is inherently doomed, it’s because the standard delivery model is broken in three specific, but fixable ways.

What’s actually wrong

1. The training is one-off, not structured

A single workshop teaches you what AI can do. It doesn’t teach you what your business should do about it and how it should adopt it now. There’s no second session. No way back to ask questions. No path from “this is interesting” to “we’re using this every day.”

2. The trainer doesn’t build

Most AI trainers in the UK have never shipped a production AI system. They teach what they’ve read about, watched on YouTube, or seen at a conference. There’s nothing wrong with reading and watching, but it’s not the same as having built the thing under the pressure of deadline and with real consequences and accountability.

3. The platform choice is hidden

Most providers lean toward whichever platform they’re partnered with. Microsoft partners teach Copilot. ChatGPT-first trainers don’t mention Claude. The result is that businesses get told what to use rather than helped to choose. Often the choice was made for them before they walked into the training room.

What we built

Magnitude is what AI training looks like when you fix those three things and wrap it up as a service that can be understood and measured.

It’s a pathway, not a course

Five stages, each building on the last. You don’t graduate from Foundations into a void. You move into Choosing Your AI Stack, then from there a deep dive in the platform you’ve chosen. Once you are fully capable on your AI stack you move to Embedding AI where things really start to happen i.e. savings are made, automations are happening and the true opportunity starts to be realised. Finally for those that want it, Going Further is the last (open ended) stage where you move into more advanced territory.

It’s built by builders

We’ve been building technology for UK businesses for 25 years. We design, build and ship AI systems for our clients and have been for years. Every example in the room comes from a system that exists. The trainer in the room is the same person who could be building you an AI enabled system next month.

It’s genuinely platform-impartial

We don’t favour any specific partnership. We cover Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot with equal weight. The Choosing Your AI Stack stage is designed to find the right answer for your business, not the convenient one for ours.

Who it’s for

Magnitude is built for two kinds of UK SME.

If you’re running a business of 10 to 50 people and you know AI matters but don’t know where to start, Foundations is designed for you. Half a day, plain English, no jargon, no theatre. You leave with a plan you can act on without hiring anyone new.

If you’re at a mid-market business with a team of 50 to 250 and you’ve already rolled out Copilot licences but aren’t seeing the productivity uplift the board was promised, Magnitude is the structured route from licence to capability. Governance and adoption are built in. The output is measurable.

Where to start

Foundations is where everyone starts. Half a day for up to 15 people, tailored to your sector. From there the pathway opens up, but you don’t commit beyond the stage you’ve booked.

If you want to know more, view the Magnitude AI Pathway page or send me a message. I do every discovery call myself, that’s part of the point.

We’ve spent 25 years building technology. We’ve spent the last few years building AI. Magnitude is what happens when you turn that experience into a programme for the businesses we work with every day.

Cheers
