Chesterfield based Custom Solar is one of the UK’s most established renewable energy companies specialising in solar PV. After a period of considerable growth Custom Solar looked to Magnifica for a redesign of their company website.

Custom Solar where founded in 2010 with their first website following not long after. This original site was a custom website with integrated WordPress blog.
The site has worked well for the business however after a company-wide rebrand and considerable growth it was time for a redesign to meet Custom Solar's changing needs.
Having delivered some of the UK's largest rooftop solar projects the new site needed to show Custom Solar's credentials as a market leader. Also, high quality drone footage had been captured which could not easily be showcased on the old website.
Taking a user first approach we looked at the different customer personas who interact with Custom Solar. Building on this we developed a site structure and information architecture to meet each personas needs and also took into consideration technical and on page SEO.
We looked at the content management systems available and agreed that WordPress was best suited to the project based on its flexibility and ease of use from a content authoring point of view.
Features and functionality were agreed, content produced and the site look and feel designed.
After a period of testing and final content optimisation the new Custom Solar site was launched seeing an immediate increase in traffic.
Site speed, an average of 2.56 seconds load time across the site, and the improved user experience account for early increase in traffic.
Custom Solar are now able to promote their work through highly engaging case studies and high impact drone footage.
